Since her first appearance on national television in 1992 on Star Search, Mississippi-born American singer and entertainer Britney Jean Spears has had an explosive impact on the music industry and pop-culture worldwide. Britney does it all she sings, dances, writes and composes. A monster success!
From Star Search to the Disney Channel's The New Mickey Mouse Club, Spears established herself as a pop icon and bona fide pop phenomenon with her debut hit album . . . Baby One More Time, leading the teen pop revival in the late 1990s.
When Britney Spears first burst onto the music scene, she was the incarnation of American clean-cut youth. But this changed, and she rose to become the sexiest superstar of her generation. Spears constantly changes her style in fashion and music, making her an unstoppable force in entertainment. But in the process, she has discovered the true price of fame and experienced an emotional tumble that led to a well-publicized nervous breakdown.
Britney Spears Little girl lost eBook Christopher Heard
I've always favored biographies of actors/entertainers/musicians/singers and this title was suggested based on my past reads. I was familiar with Britney Spears only through the media portrayal (usually less than flattering) and thought it might make for an interesting read because I knew almost nothing about her rise to fame and fortune. In fact, I'd never even listened to her music but once caught a glimpse of her in concert from the MGM in Las Vegas on HBO.The author Chistopher Heard, in my opinion, does an outstanding job of reporting the facts, not the sensationalism, and gives an amazing story if not history of Britney's journey from childhood, the family sacrifiices, and ultimate rise to pop princess. The numerous challenges she would face, her struggles personal and professional are layed out in such a way that this reader couldn't help but feel sympathetic in the sense she'd become a prisoner of her own device, much like Elvis and Michael Jackson. But Mr. Heard maintains a very middle of the road stance, not defending, justifying, condemning, or judging Britney's behavior and decision making. It helped me understand from start to finish what she had to undergo to realize her dream and the downside of that success through microscopic public scrutiny. I would highly recommend this for anyone who is sincerely interested in "learning" about Britney rather than catching glimpses of tabloid fodder at the grocery store checkout. Published in 2011 much has transpired since then for Britney such as being a judge on the X Factor and inking a monster deal in Vegas and it would have been great to find out the behind the scenes of how those came into play. Perhaps next time if Mr. Heard decides to write again about her. In the end, I couldn't help find myself wishing her success for having survived it all up to this point and it appears Britney is going to make it through some very trying times. I wish her only the best.

Britney Spears Little girl lost eBook Christopher Heard Reviews
I came to this book as rather indifferent to Britney Spears, but with an interest in finding out about her story, having only been exposed to the most extreme gossip about her that got beyond the tabloids and made it into mainstream newspapers. I don't own any of her albums.
The book is most heavily focused on the earlier parts of her career and spends the most time there. The later years of her career are breezed through, but all of the highlights I remember hearing about on the radio from time to time were touched upon.
The book paints a sympathetic but seemingly-honest account of most events. It doesn't absolve her of blame but presents the environment and context in which certain events occurred, which was always missing from the sensationalist reports.
Some parts of the book were a bit thin, but I think this was done to mostly stick to the facts and what is known and to not indulge in too much speculation.
As another reviewer mentioned, this book turned me into a fan to some degree -- of the hard work, determination, and focus. It also made me somewhat sympathetic toward her situation and, while I can't understand her decisions, I can at least come to the conclusion that maybe I don't know enough about the psychology of the situation to empathize.
The book also provides yet another account of how fame and success can attract the wrong people to your vicinity, and how a voracious media can strip you of your privacy and deliberately seek to represent you as they want to and not in accordance with the truth of things.
I loved this book! it gives you an indepth look into britney's life. Especially the parts about her suffering with anxiety disorders and what not because it made her a person. I suffer with an anxiety disorder and i related to her in that sense. I feel sorry for her, what with all the things shes gone through. You cant blame her for going off the deep end. Im glad shes back on track now.
I WAS VERY LEARY ABOUT READING THIS BOOK AT FIRST. I READ A BOOK ABOUT HER A FEW YEARS AGO AND IT WAS QUITE EMPTY AND TOLD ME ALL THE THINGS I KNEW ABOUT HER. THIS BOOK BY CHRISTOPHER HEARD IS WELL WRITTEN AND VERY INTERESTING. BRITNEY LOVED THE ATTENTION FROM THE START. HER CAREER TOOK OFF AS A YOUNGSTER AND NEVER STOPPED UNTIL SHE WAS OVERCOME BY DRUGS AND ALCOHOL. BRITNEY NEVER REALLY GREW UP AND HAD VERY POOR COPING SKILLS. HER FATHER IS ALSO AN ALCOHOLIC SO THE ADDICTION GENE IS IN HER. HER MOTHER TRIED TO HELP HER BUT BRITNEY WAS CAPTAIN OF HER SHIP. HER VOYAGE ENDED WITH 2 DIVORCES, 2 KIDS FROM A MOOCH HUSBAND, A TON OF PEOPLE WHO GOT RICH OF HER AND A TRIP TO REHAB SEVERAL TIMES. BRIT HIT ROCK BOTTOM WHEN EXPOSING HER PRIVATES SEVERAL TIMES AND CUTTING OFF HER HAIR. A PLEA FOR HELP. I AM NOT A FAN OF HER BUT I CAN FEEL HER PAIN AND SYMPATHIZE FOR HER. BRITNEY HAS NOT BEEN IN THE NEWS LATELY WHICH IS A GOOD THING. HER THERAPY, MEDICATION FOR DEPRESSION AND ABSTINANCE HAS PAYED OFF. SHE HAS A NEW BOYFRIEND AND SEEMS TO BE ON THE ROAD TO A HAPPY SOBER LIFE. I RECOMMEND THIS FOR ALL FANS BRITNEY AND PEOPLE WITH ADDICIONS.
Easy read
I love Britney Spears very good book she's a very strong person
A good biography. Doesn't mock or glorify. Simply makes her a person who got too much too fast.
Have been a britney fan from the very first song she released. Reading the book took me back to when I was 11 years old wishing I was Britney Spears. I did feel for her but how much of this is true? So many people have analysed her life and have released stories on her but I'll only ever believe what happened to her throughout all these years when it's Ms Britney herself who tells the story. It was a good read and ill always be team Britney
