About the Author
Alyson B. Stanfield is an artist advocate, workshop leader, art-marketing consultant, and the founder of Art Biz Coach.
I'd Rather Be in the Studio! was shaped by Stanfield's ten years as an art museum curator and educator. She has loads of experience working with collectors as well as the general art-viewing public. That means that she knows how people interact with art, how they approach it, what they fear, and how we can educate them and alleviate their fears.
She wrote this book for the many talented artists who remain professionally unfulfilled because their work remains in the studio.

$25.00 for a book I cannot hold in my hands. GREED!
I agree with the previous reviewer, this book is way too expensive and I can find another just as informative for less. I can't justify spending $25 for a book.
Why is this only on ? It's a reference book that isn't really suitable for e-book format.
It's way too expensive Ms. Stanfield.
$25 for a version? Seriously? This book really looks like it would be helpful and interesting and I would be happy to purchase it if it wasn't so cost prohibitive. As it is, I can get two other quite informative books about marketing your art for the price of just this one (which is what I did and I'm quite happy with them). Lower the price to be comparable to similar books from your peers and I'll buy this one too. I'm not in the habit of writing reviews like this- I like to actually review the PRODUCT- and in a fair manner, but when the cost makes even being able to purchase it a challenge, then this is all I can offer. I'd be happy to change this review should the pricing change to make the purchase feasible for myself and other "starving" artists out there.
I, like almost every artist, have the talent but not what I call the "business systems" to be successful in getting my art out into the world for others to enjoy.
Alyson understands this challenge! And, not only understands it, she has the proven expertise to guide artists to success.
A valuable resource for artists who want to push themselves further in the business aspects of their art career. I am already "ready" to re-read the book... and I just finished reading it last week!
Very basic advice and not very inspiring. Overpriced for what it delivers. I would recommend maria brophy's book Art Money and Success instead - really practical and inspiring
